International artist raises £4,500 for Breast Cancer Care
Sharon White supported Breast Cancer Care’s prestigious Fashion Show on 4th October, alongside the likes of Strictly’s Claudia Winkleman and the Charity’s key supporter Lisa Snowden. The annual event raised nearly £300,000 to help support people living with and facing breast cancer.
The international artist created a bespoke piece of artwork entitled ‘Bellatrix’ (Latin for Woman Warrior) for the Charity event using mixed-media and embracing a pink colour scheme, to co-ordinate with Breast Cancer Care’s logo and theme.
Sharon enthuses “I have worked with this worthy charity before, as I toured with a Tree of Life artwork that I created in 2014 with fifty Dorset ladies. The Tree of Life artwork toured the UK and I held art therapy workshops at Breast Cancer Care’s three main branches of London, Sheffield and Glasgow. Since then, it has travelled over 10,000 miles, to include parts of the UAE and I now have interest from America. My bespoke piece, Bellatrix, was auctioned on the night at the fashion show and it raised an incredible £4,500 which completely humbled me”.
Sharon taught art at secondary schools and was accredited as an advanced skills teacher in 2011. Just over 5 years ago, she set up on her own. Her artworks have been displayed in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Portugal and at high-end Hotels. This year she has expanded her business by introducing a home interiors collection of luxury scatter cushions, faux throws, table mats and runners.
Sharon says “I am thrilled with my new collections, which have a feminine flair. I recently undertook a festive photoshoot and was delighted that my table runners, mats and coasters added a richness and quality to the dining table; the place where family and friends gather to celebrate the big day.”
