What is Mixed Media Art?

Mixed Media refers to a visual art form that combines a variety of Media in a single artwork. Sharon uses a range of mixed media from Swarovski crystals to delicate fabrics and pearls, creating a dynamic thread of spectacular images.

Sharon's Journey

International artist, Sharon White, has enjoyed exhibitions both in the UK and the UAE, featured in 6* Hotels and prestigious properties worldwide. Sharon graduated from Southampton University in arts education and went on to teach art for 17 years at secondary schools. She was accredited as an advanced skilled teacher in 2011.  Sharon's path took on a new direction when she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and took a year away from teaching.  During that time Sharon unable to  focus and carry out normal tasks so used art as her therapy to recovery.

In 2013, she set up on her own and the following year Sharon toured the UK visiting key cities undertaking mixed-media workshops with ladies supporting and facing breast cancer. Her Twitter campaign reached over 4 million people, with support from headline names of stage and screen, to include TV presenters Tess Daly, Lorraine Kelly and Kirstie Allsopp, plus actress Denise Welch and the professional dancers from Strictly Come Dancing.

The completed artwork, entitled ‘The Tree of Life’, was exhibited at Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion & Textile Museum in central London, but is now on tour in the UAE.  In March 2015, Sharon chose Dubai for her next art exhibition and took part in Dubai’s International Art Festival. Fifteen of her artworks were displayed and she was overwhelmed by the interest in her works, which included Dubai’s Palm Island, crashing waves and beach scenes. Sharon has enjoyed working with the prestigious Fairmont Hotel on the Palm, Amina Hospital (at the personal request of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Al Naoimi) and Khalidiya Palace.

Plans for the future include building on her portfolio of work both for the UK and international markets, and seeing her colourful and creative prints on  products throughout your home. 2017 now sees the product range available online . Wall Art in Canvas or Print , Cushions in varying sizes , Home Decor, Kitchenware and gifts have been added to the new online shop . Sharon will add to the range with each new design that becomes available.
